Vinification: Hand-picked grapes are vinified with natural yeasts and matured in stainless steel tanks. The wine is left to rest until it is ready for bottling. Aged for between 12-24 months.
Medium bodied with great acidity running through. Lots of red fruits and minerality. Plenty of spice and earth notes on the palate.
This historic property is considered on of the top producers in Saumur-Champigny in the Loire Valley. The château has been in the family for 5 generations, and today, is run by Philippe Vatan. The estate is located four miles east of Saumur and fifteen miles west of Chinon. The estate's Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc vines are organically grown on top of 18.5 hectares of tuffeau-limestone soils.
