Tasting note and best served with:
A beautifully expressive Sylvaner layered with ripe autumn orchard fruit, bruised apple and subtle savoury depth. Rich yet energetic, the palate balances gentle texture with freshness and quiet mineral tension. Best served with appetisers, sweet and sour dishes, washed-rind cheeses or fruit-based desserts.
Producer and terroir information:
Domaine Pierre Frick is a twelve-generation family estate in Alsace run by Jean-Pierre, Chantal and Thomas Frick. Widely regarded as pioneers of biodynamic and natural winemaking, the Frick family have farmed organically since 1970 and biodynamically since 1981. Across 12 hectares of vineyards, the domaine focuses on indigenous fermentations, hand-harvesting and minimal cellar intervention to produce wines that transparently reflect grape variety and terroir.
The Sylvaner vines are planted on brown limestone soils with sandstone influence on southeast-facing mid-slopes, bringing both ripeness and mineral freshness to the wine. Ageing in old oak barrels and the restrained use of sulphur allow the vineyard character to shine with clarity and depth.
