Vinification: 80 year old vines on slopes overlooking the Loire. Clay soils. Hand harvest, whole bunch pressed, wild yeast fermentation in 500L old oak barrels. Aged for 10-12 months in the same barrels. Unfined and unfiltered.
Lemons and white peaches, roasted hazelnuts and loads of minerality. Rich and complex, an amazing white wine.
Leo's family has been farming here at Domaine du Valbrun in Parnay, south of the river Saumur since 1722. Since 2021 he personally tends to 6 hectares of organic vines for his own cuvees. Part of a new generation of experimental younger growers in the region.
