About the Wine
Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll Riesling is a vibrant, high-energy take on classic German Riesling. Made from 100% Riesling, this is a crisp, fruit-driven style that leans into purity, zippy acidity and aromatic intensity, delivering freshness and precision with a rebellious edge.
Winemaking
Produced in a classic style, the wine is fermented predominantly in stainless steel, with around one third in oak barrels for added texture and complexity. Fermentation occurs spontaneously using natural yeasts. The wine is then racked off and bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving its natural character and vibrancy.
Tasting Notes
Bright and expressive with aromas of orchard fruits, apricot and peach, alongside exotic notes of mango and lychee. Crisp and refreshing on the palate, with high acidity and a clean mineral backbone that carries through to a long, lively finish.
The Winemaker
Alexander Bauer, working alongside his brother Martin, is part of the fifth generation of this dynamic family estate. Since taking over in 2011, they have challenged convention with bold labels and an irreverent attitude, while continuing to produce seriously well-crafted wines from vineyards around Neustadt in the Pfalz.
Food Pairing
A versatile partner for spicy dishes, fish and seafood, poultry, charcuterie or egg-based dishes. Particularly good with barbecued prawns, Thai green curry, roast pork belly or caramelised onion and goat’s cheese tart.
