About the Wine
Weignut Frey Pinot Blanc is a vibrant, fruit-forward organic white and an excellent example of modern Rheinhessen winemaking. Made from 100% Pinot Blanc, this is a fresh, expressive style that balances purity and texture, focusing on clean fruit and natural character rather than heavy oak influence.
Winemaking
Hand harvested and carefully sorted, the grapes are fermented using natural yeasts. Vinified in 90% stainless steel and 10% French oak barrels, this wine sees no malolactic fermentation, preserving freshness and natural acidity. A low-intervention approach is used throughout to maintain clarity and expression of the fruit.
Tasting Notes
Bright and aromatic with flavours of apricot, ripe pear, melon and citrus, alongside delicate white blossom notes. Medium-bodied with a gently creamy texture, balanced acidity and a soft, mineral finish with a subtle hint of smokiness.
The Winemakers
Philipp and Christopher Frey, alongside their father Stefan, represent the fourth generation of winemakers in Ober-Flörsheim. Working organically in one of Germany’s driest regions, they focus on minimal intervention and sustainable viticulture, producing honest wines that reflect both their heritage and the unique terroir of Rheinhessen.
Food Pairing
A great match for oily fish, creamy poultry dishes, pasta or soft cheeses.
