Country: Spain
Region: Galicia, D.O. Rías Baixas, O Rosal

Viticulture: Sustainable and organic-focused vineyard practices. Vines are planted between 50 and 150 metres above sea level on ancient river terraces of slate and metamorphic schist soils, bringing distinctive mineral character to the wines. The vineyards benefit from the mild Atlantic microclimate of the Rosal Valley, with gentle temperatures, low frost risk and balanced ripening conditions.

Grapes: 70% Albariño, 20% Loureiro, 10% Caiño Blanco

Vinification: Hand-harvested. Destemmed and gently crushed before cold soaking to preserve aromatic intensity and freshness. Fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts under controlled temperatures. Filtered before bottling to maintain clarity and precision while preserving the vibrant fruit profile and mineral character of the blend.

Tasting note and best served with:
A beautifully aromatic Galician white wine layered with mandarin, ripe melon and orange peel, unfolding into delicate notes of orange blossom, wet stone and subtle earthiness. The palate is fresh yet creamy, balancing mineral tension with smooth texture and vibrant acidity through a long, elegant finish. Best served with oysters, crab, grilled seafood or fragrant Asian cuisine.

Producer and terroir information:
Bodegas Terras Gauda is one of the most respected producers in Rías Baixas, renowned for elevating Albariño and preserving indigenous Galician grape varieties. Founded in 1989 in the Rosal Valley of northwest Spain, the winery is celebrated for crafting premium Atlantic white wines that combine freshness, texture and aromatic complexity.

Terras Gauda’s signature O Rosal blend combines Albariño with Loureiro and the rare Caiño Blanco, a heritage variety the winery helped rescue from near extinction. The diverse vineyard sites across the Rosal Valley allow each grape variety to ripen under ideal conditions: lower-altitude parcels provide concentration and richness, while cooler high-altitude vineyards contribute aromatic lift and freshness. Slate-rich soils unique to this area of Rías Baixas add distinctive minerality and structure to the wine.

A must for fans of Albariño blends, coastal Spanish wines and mineral-driven white wines, O Rosal is a vibrant expression of Galicia’s Atlantic terroir and modern Spanish winemaking.
