Viticulture: Certified organic and biodynamic farming (Ecocert & Demeter certified). Low-intervention viticulture with biodiversity-focused vineyard management and biodynamic preparations applied according to the Maria Thun calendar.
Grapes: 100% Riesling
Vinification: Hand-harvested. Whole bunches macerated before pressing, with the juice settled overnight prior to fermentation. Ambient fermentation with indigenous yeasts and full malolactic fermentation. Aged on fine lees in old oak barrels for 10 months to build texture and complexity. No fining and no added sulphur to preserve the wine’s raw energy and terroir expression.
Tasting note and best served with:
A textured and deeply expressive Riesling bursting with bright tart fruit, warm spice and layers of green and yellow orchard fruit. The palate is supple yet precise, driven by chalky minerality and a saline freshness that unfolds beautifully with air and time. Best served alongside fish in white sauce, grilled river fish, or summer vegetable dishes.

Domaine Pierre Frick is a historic twelve-generation family estate led by Jean-Pierre, Chantal and Thomas Frick, widely regarded as pioneers of biodynamic and natural winemaking in Alsace. Farming organically since 1970 and biodynamically since 1981, the domaine focuses on minimal intervention, indigenous fermentations and pure terroir expression.
This Riesling comes from the Grand Cru Vorbourg vineyard, a prized south-southeast-facing site protected by the twin peaks of Petit Ballon and Grand Ballon, creating one of the driest and sunniest microclimates in Alsace. The complex soils of marl, limestone, sandstone pebbles and ancient wind-blown silt contribute both ripeness and striking mineral tension, producing wines of depth, energy and longevity.
