This natural orange wine is from Organically farmed, bushvine Chenin Blanc on the granite soils of Swartland. Craig Hawkins is the mastermind in the winery. He ferments the grapes for 11 days whilst macerating with their skins before being pressed into old oak barrels. Nothing is added apart from a tiny amount of sulphur before bottling.
It's packed full of citrus and ginger with an amazing complexity and roundness to it from the delicate oak treatment and malolactic fermentation. It has an underlying minerality on palate but balanced with acidity and fruit. It really is a joy to drink and you can tell how much care and attention has been put into the wine making.
