Wine making: Manual harvest, grapes are destemmed before fermentation and left to macerate for 8 days on skins. Fermented in stainless steel using native yeasts followed by 6 months aging in stainless steel and then 5 months in wooden barrels. Unfined, unfiltered and a small amount of sulphur added.
Medium body, fresh and ripe dark fruits and a touch of spice.
The Vesco family took over these vineyards in the 1990s and revolutionised the practices. Now they use high tech equipment and no pesticides. Located in the Alcamo hills on sandy soils at 150-350m above sea level.
