This Semillon comes from a remarkable vineyard planted in 1958 in the Colchagua Valley, where ancient vines on their original rootstock continue to produce fruit of outstanding concentration and complexity. Once considered Chile's flagship white grape, Semillon dominated the country's finest vineyards during the 1950s before gradually falling out of favour. The name Antaño Real, meaning "Royal Times", pays tribute to that forgotten golden era, reviving Semillon's noble heritage through traditional skin-contact winemaking and ageing in clay amphora.
For lovers of orange wine, skin-contact whites and distinctive low-intervention wines, Antaño Real offers a fresh, elegant expression of old-vine Chilean Semillon with texture, energy and remarkable drinkability.
