Country: Austria

Region: Burgenland, Neusiedlersee

Viticulture: Certified biodynamic farming. The Chardonnay comes from the Hollabern vineyard near Apetlon, where decades of biodynamic viticulture have helped build healthy, vibrant soils. The vineyard sits on calcareous black soils over a silty-sandy quartz-gravel subsoil with limestone and dolomite. The grapes are hand-harvested.

Grapes: 100% Chardonnay

Vinification: The wine begins with a spontaneous fermentation using indigenous wild yeasts in stainless steel. It then undergoes a second fermentation in bottle using the traditional Champagne method, with the 2021 vintage bottled for secondary fermentation in January 2022.

A beautifully refined Austrian Blanc de Blanc with bright golden colour, lively fine bubbles and impressive depth. The nose brings together citrus, baked apple, orchard fruit and subtle yeasty notes, while time in the glass reveals hints of honey and raisin. The palate is dry, creamy and beautifully textured, balancing ripe fruit with focused acidity and a velvety mousse. Precise and energetic, with a long, mineral finish.

Vitikultur Moser is the biodynamic wine estate of Niki Moser, based in Rohrendorf in Austria. The estate has been farming biodynamically for decades, with a focus on healthy, living soils and wines that express their vineyard origins. This Blanc de Blanc is produced from Chardonnay grown in Hollabern near Apetlon in the Burgenland lowlands, where gravelly, calcareous soils provide the foundation for its freshness, precision and mineral character.
